Course Description: Over 50 years of research have found that family and community engagement in education is foundational for child development, student achievement, school improvement, and family and community well-being. This course introduces the principles and practices of family engagement, emphasizing strategies that extend beyond the classroom to build strong partnerships between families and schools. Participants will explore the difference between involvement and engagement, assess their school's family-friendly environment, and develop action plans to enhance partnership.
