Pharmacology Refresher

Description: A review of the most popular pharmaceutical drugs that dental hygienists encounter while taking and reviewing a medical history. The course will contain case studies pertaining to pharmaceutical drugs and their effects on the oral cavity. Participants should be prepared to practice reviewing a medical history and connecting the pharmaceutical drugs to their perspective disease or condition. This is not a certification course.

Objectives:

1. Understand the connection between pharmaceutical drugs and the body.

2. Understand the side effects of pharmaceutical drugs on the oral cavity.

3. Identify pharmaceutical drugs and the disease or condition they treat.

4. Utilize case studies to connect pharmaceutical drugs to clinical situations that a dental hygienist will encounter.
