Description:
Review the 2017 AAP Periodontal Disease classification system. Understand the clinical use of these classifications and the implications for treatment planning and using appropriate CDT codes. Practice these applications using case based activities and treatment planning. This is not a certification course.

Objectives:
     1. Identify the current AAP periodontal disease classification system.
     2. Describe and recognize all categories of periodontal health.
     3. Describe and recognize all categories of non- plaque and plaque-induced periodontal diseases.
     4. Describe and recognize all categories of periodontal manifestations of systemic diseases.
     5. Describe and recognize all peri-implant conditions.
     6. Understand staging and grading procedures.
     7. Apply staging and grading procedures to clinical cases.
     8. Apply classification system and diagnostic categories to treatment planning procedures.
