Course Description: The PROMISE Biomedical Research Techniques and Training course is a unique research internship designed to offer intellectually curious, highly motivated high school students with a strong aptitude in the biomedical sciences a total-emersion experience in laboratory research. This course allows selected applicants to experience what it is like to work in a research laboratory. Each intern will learn hands-on techniques, attend ethics in biomedical research seminars, learn about safe lab practices, and interact with scientists while learning the biology behind their research. This program is designed to give regional high school students unique opportunities in biomedical research. This course is custom tailored to specific student interests so the precise lecture time and content will vary slightly between students.
