Course Description: This course supports practicing teachers in mentoring a teacher candidate during a one-week clinical experience. Participants learn effective strategies for welcoming, coaching, and providing feedback to emerging educators. Teachers document key mentoring interactions and evaluate the candidate’s performance using the Student Teacher Observation Tool (STOT), aligned with the InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards. The course strengthens teachers’ capacity to guide candidates’ growth in a short, high-impact placement.
