Course Description: This introductory course provides information fundamental to understanding students who are deaf or hard of hearing as unique learners. It covers key concepts related to the individual learning characteristics of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including language and communication abilities, social-emotional development, literacy development, and the importance of access to incidental learning. Content will focus on practical strategies and considerations for creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. It addresses strategies for consideration throughout the educational
setting.
