At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Define family engagement and create an action plan for their school/classroom.

2. Understand the relationships between staff members and develop a strategy for improving.

3. Develop strategies for establishing and maintaining effective classroom routines that promote
organization, productivity, and a positive learning environment.

4. Cultivate a collaborative classroom culture by fostering strong relationships among staff and
students and encouraging active participation.

5. Apply trauma-informed instructional practices to create a safe and supportive learning
environment that addresses the social-emotional needs of students.

6. Implement evidence-based behavior strategies and interventions to proactively manage student
behavior, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive classroom climate.

7. Align curriculum and instruction with academic standards and pacing guides to ensure
coherence while meeting the needs of all learners.

8. Utilize research-based instructional strategies to effectively teach Mathematics and English
Language Arts (ELA) concepts and skills, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and
communication.

9. Employ a variety of assessment techniques to monitor student progress, inform instructional
decisions, and provide meaningful feedback to support student learning and growth.

10. Design standards-aligned lesson plans that promote active learning, differentiation, and student
engagement, incorporating backward design principles and formative assessment data.

11. Integrate best practices in Mathematics and ELA instruction to promote interdisciplinary
connections, literacy skills development, and mathematical thinking across content areas.

12. Analyze and interpret student data to inform instructional decisions and support continuous
improvement in teaching practices.

13. Implement technology tools and digital literacy strategies to enhance student learning and
engagement in modern educational environments.
