Description:
Review the concepts of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, indications and contraindications, and legal/ethical considerations in administration of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation. This interactive online course is designed for dental professionals who are currently utilizing minimal sedation services with their patients. This is not a certification course.
Objectives:
1. Identify the analgesic and anxiolytic properties of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation.
2. Describe the physiology and mechanism of action of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation.
3. Understand the necessity of patient assessment.
4. Recognize the advantages of the titration technique.
5. Distinguish the components of sedation equipment, their proper use and maintenance.
6. Appreciate the well-documented safety and acceptance of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation.
7. Identify proper documentation of the use of nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation in the patient record.
8. Identify how to prevent occupational hazards associated with nitrous oxide sedation.

A full refund will be given if you cancel at least one week (five working days) before the program. If you cancel less than one week prior to the program, a $50 processing fee will be deducted from your refund.
Participation/Certification Programs:
A full refund will be issued if you cancel at least one month (30 total days) before the first program session. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the program, a late-cancellation fee of $100 will be deducted from your refund.
