Description:
This course is designed for dental assistants who are seeking radiology certification. In this course, you will learn the skills required to produce high-quality diagnostic images. This course includes both didactic lectures and a hands-on portion.
Objectives:
1. Understand the nature and behavior of x-rays.
2. Discuss the basics of radiology and biological effects.
3. Understand patient and operator safety.
4. Understand State & Federal Regulations.
5. Understand and apply exposure techniques.
6. Prevent and identify exposure technique errors.
7. Acquire digital images (intraoral and extraoral).
8. Conduct quality analysis of images.

Refund Policy
Lectures and Webinars:
A full refund will be given if you cancel at least one week (five working days) before the program. If you cancel less than one week prior to the program, a $50 processing fee will be deducted from your refund.
Participation/Certification Programs:
A full refund will be issued if you cancel at least one month (30 total days) before the first program session. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the program, a late-cancellation fee of $100 will be deducted from your refund.
Home Study/On-Demand Courses:
There are no refunds for home study or online courses once you have registered. Please review the course details before making the non-refundable registration payment.
*Please note, course may be cancelled due to inadequate amount of registrants. A full refund will be given if the Department of Dental Hygiene cancels a course for any reason.

Tasha Wendel
Tasha Wendel graduated from the University of South Dakota with her degree in dental hygiene in 2009 and later with her Masters of Public Health in 2017. She has worked in private practice, public health, and in education. She has given CE presentations at the local, state, national, and international level. She is currently the Immediate Past-President of the South Dakota Dental Hygienists' Association and serves as the Dental Hygiene Liaison for South Dakota through the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors.
